HUGE NEWS FOR KID-JITSU!

Kid-Jitsu Founder, Professor Larry Shealy announced today that he is in development of THREE very exciting virtual study programs. One is a virtual study program for his current licensees, another is a HOME STUDY Certification Program for new licensees, and the third is a Master Mind Group.
CURRENT LICENSEE VIRTUAL STUDY PROGRAM
Some of the benefits of the new system for current licensees will be as follows:
* The new delivery system we are developing will allow current members access to trouble shooting of techniques we have worked on over the past few years, as well as the ability to add newer techniques that build on your current curriculum.
* We will have the capacity to deliver specific information that is delivered via video format with school owners, ie: video of some of my classes, specific details on various techniques, skills and drills for children and adults.
* We will provide coaching on the mats, as well as implementing the business end of the equation
* We will provide weekly lesson plans that can accessed by each Licensee.
* We will provide testing criteria per belt: White Belt testing for White-Yellow will test on the following drills, techniques and applications: techniques 1-10, etc..
NEW PROGRAM FOR HOME STUDY:
* The home study program will be rolled out very similar to our Standard Certification Program that we have conducted for the past 3.5 years.
* This virtual study program will be video based, along with self study and essay testing, and video demonstration back to our database will allow for additional Instruction, Technique and Critique.
* Homework will be given on a weekly basis. (details will be forth coming)
* Your Certification will be self paced, and upon completion you will have access to the Licensee’s Virtual Study Program
PREMIUM MEMBERS
In addition to the above benefits, Premium Members will also have access to the following Webinars
* Professor Shealy will provide ongoing “mentoring” for Premium Members via a “Go to Meeting” Webinar Format. This will allow members to have one-on-one ‘real time’ with Professor Shealy on topics important to their school. This will be 1 hour per week.
* Premium Members will also form a MasterMind Group, led by Professor Shealy. This group will “meet” on a Webinar once per month for 2 hours. Our MasterMind Group will be strictly business and finance driven, and will work similar to Graduate School with Group work, and Case Studies.

Professor Larry Shealy was recently voted to the Board of Directors of USAJJ, a non profit organization out of Washington DC. The primary focus of USAJJ is growing the art of Jiu-Jitsu across the United States, and the World, pushing to have Jiu-Jitsu accepted into the Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero in 2016. Professor Larry is extremely humbled as he joins some very heavy hitters in the industry to assist in achieving the above listed group goals: Master Rigan Machado, Johnny Ramirez, Robert Drysdale, Papa John Gorman, Matt Larson......and many, many more.
USAJJ is not run by a school preference, or a team, it is a not for profit, governing body that will work with all teams trying to make BJJ a bigger and better sport than it currently is. Check the website http://www.usajj.com and get involved!

Kid-Jitsu’s new regional licensing and certification center opened in Cartersville, GA (outside of Atlanta) this week. It is a 4000 square foot, state of the art training center with BJJ, Kid-Jitsu, Kickboxing and more. As Atlanta is an easy place to get direct flights in to, we will also be using this location for Training our new Affiliates/Licensees. We will also use this site for many of our members on-going training. (in addition to seminars at the individual schools) Stay tuned for more information on our newest corporate location.

We are restructuring Kid-Jitsu and our operating procedures to better serve and assist our current and future licensed schools. The new direction we are taking will further enhance the current systems we currently have in place, and it will also allow for enhanced curriculum for both children and adult programs. In addition, logistically we will be able to have more face time with our Licencees, Instructors and their students.
I am currently interviewing school owners, to identify Regional Kid-Jitsu Training Centers. Specifically I am looking for training centers in the North East, Midwest, and West Coast. A Training Center must:
1. Have been in a successful business for a minimum of 3 years.
2. Have a Traditional Martial Arts school: karate, tkd, etc.
3. Have a strong desire to use Kid-Jitsu to increase their profits by using BJJ as an add on, leadership enhancement, etc.
4. No BJJ experience necessary, however a strong teaching background is a pre-requisite.

Chip Coffey has assumed the position of Vice President & Technical Advisor in the Kid-Jitsu Program. In his new capacity Chip will be responsible for maintaining positive licensee relations, continuous updating of Kid-Jitsu & Adult BJJ Program Curriculum, and representing/marketing Kid-Jitsu at local and national BJJ tournaments.
Chip has trained BJJ for approximately 10 years. He trained at JaxBJJ from 2004 until 2007, and instructed at JaxBJJ full time for a year and then part time ever since. In addition to opening his own Academy in Cartersville, GA, (http://www.coffeybjj.com), he trains full time under Master Roberto “Spider” Traven. Chip will be competing in the World Championships in June, as a 2-stripe Brown Belt.

Kid-Jitsu Licensing....a great bunch!!
After a flat Q1, Kid-Jitsu is rebounding in spite of the economy with 2 new schools and 7 new Instructors this week. Today’s Licensing Certification was exceptional....great job guys. Congrats to: Chris, Steven, Billy Joe, Justin, Homero, DeShawn, and Tom. Thanks also to some of the alumni who assited Chip and I with the Instruction: Craig, George, and the Thunder Brothers!!

A note about Kid-Jitsu and Team Wolfpack....We are old school BJJ. We train hard, we train smart, we insist on Fundamental perfection. We are not flashy. We do not pass out belts like candy. Our program is in high demand, but we WILL NOT relax our standards. We will not affiliate with anyone who wants to push us to “promote, promote, promote”. We would rather lose some business before we relax our standards. We say train hard, train smart.......and the belts will take care of themselves. THE MAT DOES NOT LIE. A quick note to my friends to let you know that I am working out a sweet deal with N.A.P.M.A. for their upcoming “Extreme Success Academy” event in San Antonio, TX on October 9-11.

Team Wolfpack, under the direction of Professor Charles Dos Anjos, took a team of 22 students to the NAGA Tournament in Boca Raton this past weekend. These 22 students came home with 18 First Place Swords, 12 Silver Medals and 6 Bronze Medals. Professor Dos Anjos says that his team used “solid fundamental Gracie Jiu-Jitsu technique” along with exceptional conditioning to perform so well. Congrats to Professor Dos Anjos and TEAM WOLFPACK!!! By the way, this is exactly the same Jiu-Jitsu we are teaching in the Kid-Jitsu and Wolfpack Programs.

Professors Charles dos Anjos and Larry Shealy recently completed their Referee Certification through the Confederation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation. Master Alvaro Mansor, referee director for the CBJJ and IBJJF awarded Charles and Larry their Certification while they were at the Mundials (World Championships) in Long Beach, CA

Professors Charles dos Anjos and Larry Shealy held the largest seminar in their history with over 400 participants on April 23, 2008 in Mobile, Alabama. The 5 hour seminar was held at the Mobile Convention Center and was conducted for students and Instructors within the International Taekwondo Alliance at their spring festival. Grandmaster Bert Kollars said: “The I.T.A. is very pleased with our relationship with Professors Charles and Larry. Their technical and user friendly curriculum and approach to BJJ makes learning BJJ fun, and safe.”

Kid-Jitsu Founder/Instructor Larry Shealy was awarded his Black Belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu from Professor Flavio Almeida (Gracie Barra America/www.graciebarra.com) Flavio is a
2nd degree black belt and he made the promotion on behalf of Master Carlos Gracie, Jr. The promotion was awarded during a seminar at Jacksonville Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on Feb. 9, 2008. Professor Shealy began training in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in 1995, and has trained under two of the biggest names in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu: Master Carlos Gracie, Jr. and Master Royce Gracie.

I just want to provide this feedback on the KID-JITSU® Program that I attended last weekend. All I can say is WOW! This Certification Program was one of the BEST, and I mean BEST, that I have ever taken. I was thoroughly impressed that Safety was the #1 Priority in this class and how the Instructors require us to instruct our students with Safety as our #1 Goal. I have NEVER taken any Ground or BJJ Instruction before, and what Larry and Charles showed me was GREAT!!! I could not give a higher recommendation for this INCREDIBLE program. My schools will benefit greatly from what I gained in this program.
